Founding Principals

Mark T. Hornsby
Managing Director


Mr. Hornsby's 20 years of merger, acquisition and financing experience includes having served as the Director of Special Projects for River Capital, one of the oldest private equity firms in the Southeast and as the Interim Corporate Development Officer for Skip's Clothing Company where he managed the $65 million management buy-out and recapitalization of the company. Mr. Hornsby also spent six years in the Corporate Finance and Restructuring/Reorganization Groups at Ernst & Young LLP. Prior to that he served as Corporate Development Associate on the President's Staff at Southwire Company, the largest wire and cable manufacturer in the United States.

Mr. Hornsby has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Georgia's Driftmier School of Biological and Agricultural Engineering and an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University. He has been active with several industry groups such as the Coastal Venture Investment Forum (where he has served on the Board and as Chairman of the Investor Relations Committee) and the Turnaround Management Association.



James C. Westman, CFA
Managing Director


Prior to co-founding RiverHawk, Mr. Westman served as Vice President of Corporate Development for Transcend Services, a publicly-traded healthcare information services company, where he spearheaded the company's acquisition program. In addition, Mr. Westman spent six years in the Financial Advisory Services Group at Ernst & Young LLP where he focused on evaluating acquisition candidates for a number of clients, including Colombia/HCA and MCI. Prior to Ernst & Young, he served in the tax department at Arthur Andersen & Co.

Mr. Westman has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Florida and an MBA in Finance from Emory University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and is a member of the Association of Investment Management and the Atlanta Association of Financial Analysts.
